About This Blog

April 30th, 2011

The purpose of this blog is to act as an authority on tropical house plants. It is a place where you can go to find out what they are, why you might want to try growing them, and how to take care of them.

And of course, I am contributing to it, since houseplant gardening is one of my hobbies. I live in an apartment with a gallery, but have no plot of land to cultivate, so my green thumb can only be used on potted plants.

In the past several days, I have undertaken to bring the tropical house plant blog up-to-date, as I have neglected it for over a year. The site design has not changed, but several new features have been introduced.

There is a Facebook Like button and a Tweet button, since these are by far the best of the social networking sites that have come of age recently. And if you want to bookmark the site somewhere else, there is a Share button as well.

I also added a “star” rating system, where you can vote on each post. Just click on one of the stars to express your ( anonymous ) opinion.

Finally, I am making an appeal for your support. Please use the new buttons, and please click on one of our advertisers from time to time. I, of course, get a small commission if you buy something from them. But even if you just click on their link, I will be encouraged to be more productive, and maybe write the next blog post, which will be the 4th in the Tropical House Plant Care series. ( I will know how many of you are clicking, since most of my advertisers keep track of how many clicks each ad receives. )
